Why is home processing for color not nearly as wide spread?

Hi, I did look at the forum category earlier, so in that spirit I'm sticking with analog.

I was really intending to address the guy who had difficulty tweaking the color, and seems to have given up wet printing for that reason. So if one is in that position, it would be nice to know, for sure, if one has a bonafide color vision deficiency, or if it's simply a lack of experience, or whatever. If one knows that they have good color vision it's probably easier to persevere. But if that same person is lead to think they have a vision issue, well then, it's easier to throw in the towel, believing it to be hopeless.

A quick explanation is the machine made a correction of -1cyan and -1 yellow (which would be the equivalent to +1magenta but with a density difference) and +3 density. There was no manual colour or density correction.

This information is important if a remake of the print is required due to colour or density failure.
