Why does the Canon F-1 seem to get relatively little love?

The green Canon F1n was the O.D (olive drab) not O.G. which I think was produced rather for its marketing appeal than anything else, and as far as I'm aware no military organizations ever bought them, although I know the U.S Navy bought the regular black ones.

I have a strong suspicion the F-1 is easier to repar and service than the FM3a, though. There's an article on the FM3a on the Nikon site (IIRC) and they describe how tightly packed is everything inside and how painful is to fit it in during assembly.
I suspect you're right about the Canon F1 and F1n since they are wholly mechanical Flavio, but I'm not so sure about the New F1 because of its electro/mechanical shutter, but I admit I'm no camera repairer.
Old Greg has made a good choice, the Nikon FM3a is a very fine camera, and I wish him well to use it.
