Owning M6,M7,MP and R6 I have to say MP is state of the art.
Anyway, the most important part of the camera is that funny dude standing behind it
Personally, when I hold a Leica, I feel like it's worth to much to actually be bothered in taking pictures.
The R3M that I've used, a roomates, is a wonderful machine, built for abuse and finesse, and most importantly, picture making.
On the contrary, I think this calls for empirical research! I'm in favor of the "hands-on" approach!

Has anyone ever seen a broken Leica? I don't mean malfunctioning, I mean fatally physically mangled, like basically destroyed. I've never seen or heard of one...
Having access to a loan of a Hasselblad Xpan has taken the edge off my major want for an M6, but boy would I still love one.
How would you guys rate the Xpan aside from the fact theres so few lenses available?

... And I just shot my first roll of black and white film in 30 years so things are looking up.
Maybe, because they knew their particular Leica (body) was manufactured by Minolta. I know some of them were at some point in time and I'm surprized that wasn't mentioned in this thread.
