OK, over active mind time again....

While we do have the occasional get together in Adelaide (not necessarily APUG based, but still analogue), it does very much appear that Melbourne is the most active sociable group of the lot.

I am wondering whether there are others from around Australia that would be want to invade Melbourne at some point in time when they have one of their big days out? Why should they have all the fun!

Just a thought.....

As one-time Melbourne resident (and quite possibly again in the future) I'd be happy to invade. (Currently residing in the country NSW, south-side).

Having only been in 'Straylia for a year so far and not visited Melbourne, I'd be keen as this would be a good opportunity/excuse for me to check out the old place. I'm in.

You know, I've been in Victoria (from SA) for nearly twelve years... Still haven't managed to make ONE meetup  actually got to the venue of the city one a few years back, but couldn't find the gang anywhere!

My offer of lodgings still stands. Beds and floor space for a family and plenty of backyard for a few tents. I am, however, in Broome for September and, sorry, but I don't stash a key outside for squatters

Here here. As for timing I agree with anything outside of the middle of winter and summer.

Should my next comment be "build it and they will come"?

OK, so I should get to the point - I think it would be cool to have a national analogue/film/traditional photography get together. While I would love it to be in Adelaide, it seems pretty apparent that on his forum, Melbourne appears to be one of the stronger groups, hence my suggestion that we invade them.

I personally think that something casual - akin to a photo walk - would be the best idea, but I think it should be fair that we open the floor to suggestions (shows? workshops? guest speakers?).

So, anyone want to add anything? Anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

The botanical gardens seem to have scared a lot of people...

This is just an idea, but if it's a 'national' meetup, how about a weekend? Somewhere with access to a historic town, hiking trails, perhaps a communal meeting area at a caravan park that we can all meet and eat and debrief in?

...just a thought...

Not a bad idea. I'm interested to hear what others think.

I second this idea
