A few days ago tried an old pack of Tetenal TT Vario FINE ART fiber base paper. I'm pleased with the results. Nice tone, very bright white base and nice glossy surface when air dried.
Before trying I thought it would be relabeled Agfa MCC, but it obviously isn't.
I'd like to find some more of this paper. Any ideas what paper it is?

Complete info from the package:

TT Vario Fine art
SW-papier (baryt)
Kartonstark
1-4 variabler kontrast
111 Glänzend
Emulsion nr. 1468 E51
Art nr 108712

Not all Tetenal papers were from Agfa.
Tetenal Vario Comfort = Ilford Multigrade IV
Tetenel Vario Ultra = Agfa MCP
and new: Tetenal Vario = Kentmere VC Select
I know, all these are RC papers, I have no idea about their fiber base papers - sorry.

I used this paper for years while living in Paris between 1994-2003. It was identical in every respect with Agfa MCC fiber-based paper. (Except it was 30% cheaper, which was why I used it instead of Agfa.) I would have continued using it upon return to the U.S. except that it wasn't sold here. So I switched back to the Agfa, despite the higher price, because it was and is, my favorite of all the papers I've used. Richer shadow detail and warmer blacks than Ilford's MG, and brighter base than Ilford's warmtone. I've written to Ilford suggesting they'd win over a lot of former Agfa adherents if they'd put their warmtone emulsion on their MGIV base in addition to the ivory base they're using now.

TT baryt Vario = Agfa MCC

TT vario fine art = Kentmere VC select

At least that is what I read somewhere (I don't remember if it was on APUG)

I checked out the first equivalence, and it's correct. I then guessed the second would be too...

If you're looking for a film with a bright base, try Ilford Galerie graded, which has the brightest base of anything I've used recently.

This makes sense. Agfa MCC didn't have this bright base when I used it before. This Tetenal vario fine art is much brighter than MGIV FB I printed in the same session.
Never used Kentmere papers before, so I coudn't recognice it. I also got a pack of TT vario comfort which is definitely MCP.
