J&C Photographic went out of business a year or so ago. I really liked their Classic paper & wonder if anyone knows who made it for them. It was a very unusual premium paper. I seem to recall it was a grade 2-1/2.

Just when I get the tone I'm looking for from a paper, I discover it has gone out of production.
The graded paper called first "Exposition" and later "Nuance" was Efke Emaks. This paper was also sold as Cachet Expo and Maco Expo. Under different brands there have been different names for the three grades, but they are always the same three grades. Emaks 2 is a little softer than, say, Galerie 2, and Emaks 3 is a little softer than Galerie 3. Emaks 2 and 3 are the same speed in my experience, but 4 is one or two stops faster.
I've never seen Emaks 1, but I suppose that it was produced at some time
Efke as far as I can tell has always called it 4. I've never seen Emaks 1, but I suppose that it was produced at some time, since the current grades from Efke are called 2, 3, and 4. They were also called 2, 3, and 4 from Cachet and I believe Maco. J&C called them Soft, Normal, and Hard. I think I've seen a version branded as 1, 2, and 3, but I don't recall which brand that was.
I have the paper, and 4 is definitely faster than the other grades. Checking my notes now, it's two stops.

The one I have is Cachet, but I've used both Efke and Cachet labeled 2 and 3 and J&C Nuance "Normal" (=Emaks 3)), and they are the same product. I don't use that much G4.
Yes, that is my assertion, and I am fairly positive that it is true.
It has long been known that Cachet Expo RF graded, which is no longer distributed under that label, was Efke Emaks...
If the speed of Emaks 4 is of such concern to you, I recommend that you purchase packs of each grade, run your own tests and report back. I'm satisfied with mine.
I am only curious if anyone can point a
Data Sheet
for
Fotokemika's Efke Emaks 4 paper made in
Croatia, once known as Yugoslavia
in my direction.

Hi Zvonimir,
Thanks.
I have data sheets for these 3 papers, but David mentions a grade 4; Someone else mentions different lables for Europe and the US, 1,2,3 being 2,3 and 4, and this may be so, but David seems pretty sure his grade 4 is faster than the other grades, which doesn't fit the data for the Emaks papers... that you have posted here and that I also have...
So,
Did or does, Efke produce a 4th, higher contrast paper than the grade 3 mentioned here?
And, is it really faster than the other Emaks papers?
I suspect something is missing from this story, and that there may in fact not be anything to look for.
