Hezzup just expired Acros II @ $7.50/36 exp here.

This is also the place that is selling fresh C200 3 pax for $20.

I'm amused to think back to when Acros Neopan used to be one of the least expensive films out there, and after "the resurrection" of it, its now one of THE most expensive. Its no wonder retailers aren't selling it before its stale date. I haven't bought any Acros since the year Fuji announced its demise. And I ain't buying it now, at any price.

I bought a bunch of this when it was on sale at Adorama. I like this film a lot paired with my Canon FT and 50/1.4. I shot a roll in my Canon VT with 50/1.8, but stupidly forgot to change the ISO setting on my meter and ended up with a bunch of underexpose shots. But the shots that I took after realizing my mistake came out nice. That said, I think it's a better combo with the SLR 50mm lens. I need to shoot a few more rolls in the VT though.

Let it go man, let it go.

I think its important to remember that Fuji has demonstrated zero commitment to any of their photographic products (didn't they just kill off another of their color films??) other than Instax and I'd much rather support a company that demonstrates commitment to their products: Ilford.

/me lets it go now.

When Fuji announced the discontinuation of Acros, I asked my wife who was over in Japan at the time to buy as much as she could bring back for me. She did well.
I used to love shooting TMY-2 in all formats including 8x10, but that's for the very wealthy now...

honestly we should be happy it's still available. it has a look all it's own. each film has it's own flavor. use it; don't use it...up to you
I've used it with Rodinal and it's superb.

I for one am thrilled that they brought it back! It's unique.

Acros II is perfect in DF96 Monobath. Silky tones, zero grain. This pic was heavily backlit, and still came out like this

Rollei QZ35W, Acros II, Cinestill DF96 Monobath

Just ordered a bunch more after I saw the results. Adorama is selling the same back dated thing but for $10/roll!

Thanks for the heads up! I bought a bunch when Adorama was blowing out their short-dated stock for $5/roll, but tempted to hoard more. I've only tried one roll of the original Acros in 120, but I have a roll of the new Acros II waiting to be developed.

Ya know, it would have been nice of you to have given me the heads up when that was happening...

There was a thread about it at the time, but I found it on slickdeals of all places. I bought 30 rolls. I'd buy more at that price, but that'll probably take me through to next year at my current rate of consumption.

Yes, Kodak is the most expensive B&W film now. Local to me, TMY is close to double the cost of HP5. $17.75 for a roll of 120 TMY vs $9.15 for HP5 or $10.18 for Delta 400

Yeah, as @mtnbkr mentioned, there was a thread about it here on the forum. When the promo first launched, the film was short-dated. A little later, there was an even better deal, when the film was just barely past its expiry:

It's great film. But I still have a decent stash of the original version in 120 5-packs on hand, which I paid around $2.50 a roll for, apparently from the last coating batch. And it keeps quite well, especially frozen. Plus one full box of 4x5 in the freezer.

Opinions are a little like the human rectum, everybody has one. Some have bigger ones than others, just like opinions. Mine, opinion that is, is that Acros and Acros II is the absolute best B&W film for everyday general type photography. It seems to see the way my eye sees in rendering a scene tone wise without filters of any kind. I'll admit that I didn't go back to shooting it when the Acros II version came out due to the unacceptable (to me anyway) price increase. When Adorama ran the "near-out-of-date" sale I loaded up on 120 Acros II. How much do I like it? Well, my rating of Acros II on a scale of 1 to 10 is a solid 9.5. It would be a solid 10 if the price was more inline with Ilfords pricing. Second to it's positive tonal response is it's ability to get along very well with most film developers. I use Rodinal very little now, but this is one film I really like run through Rodinal. When I'm done with the roll of Delta 400 that's in my Kodak Medalist II the camera will then be fed a good diet of Across II. So, in the ISO 100 class of films this film is No. 1 in my opinion. When it comes to ISO 400 speed film the No. 1 spot for me is TMY2, but I'm not fond of the price so I do use more HP5+ and Delta 400. That's just my rectum! Opps, I mean opinion. JohnW
