Absolutely no, dear friend: i own also a 90/3.5 APO Lanthar and is a very ultra sharp lens, maybe a little bit too sharp for the portrait photography. However, has always provided me razor sharp images.

If you scroll back to the beginning, you will see that
the OP SAID, that he did not want the lens for portraits.

Besides, if the lens is too sharp, he can always put a
softening filter on it.

Better to soften a too sharp lens, because you can't
sharpen a too soft lens & stay in film.
