I am going to the north of England, then London, then Paris, in June. For the touristy Shots I am going D***** but I thought about a vintage RF for some B+W atmospheric shots .my choices are: M3 with Summicron 50 /35 3.5 Summaron/ 90 elmar/ 25 skopar; Contax IIIa with 1.5 sonnar, 35 2.8 opton biogon and a prewar 135 sonnar. Or I could just take my super Ikonta Bx.I would be jumpy about taking the Leica because it is in ex+ condition. If I just took the super Ikonta I would have less to mess with. I dunno... which is why I am asking for free advice.

I would take the M3 with Summicron 50mm.

I've shot the north of England with both 35mm and MF (TLR), and found out that it looks a lot better in MF. Bring lots of film (both fast and slow) and an umbrella.

p.s. London looked better in 35mm. IDK about Paris.

Leica M3 with 35 mm Summicron:
- better quality,
- faster shooting,
- 35 mm film (smaller + 36 exposures per roll)

Just get an old leather case to keep the Leica "clean & pristine".

Take the Leica and whatever lenses fit in a small bag. Go for the personal. Forget about the tourist shots. Buy some postcards & save time & money.

Leave the digital at home. Touristy shots? Really? Get postcards or use your cell phone for those "look where I was" shots. Otherwise bring the Contax if the M3 is too nice to use. Then when you get home sell the M3 and get a user one so you'll use it from now on.
