Hi, I have to buy a new printer to start to make digital negatives, I would like to have a your advices about a good printer to A4 or A3. I usually print my photos in AZO paper and same works I print in Platinum/palladium.
How big do you want to print? I use the R300 but I don't go above 8 by 10.
Bigger printers like the 1800, 2400 are the new normal for many. Most of these also have different ink sets available too.

It's my experience that you will probably be disappointed with AZO prints made from inkjet negatives. The printer dither pattern and substrate grain is very visible on silver gelatin prints. Some may not be bothered with it but for me it's very distracting.

P.S. I have seen silver gelatin prints made from negatives printed on Kirkland (Costco) glossy ink jet paper printed on an Epson R220 printer and they very good - just a hint of texture in the prints. I've purchased a box of the paper to test with an Epson 2200 but haven't gotten around to it yet.
