I occasionally get awards where I work and they come in the form of an amazon gift cert. So I have a chance to order some ilford paper with FREE MONEY. I don't normally use ilford but would rather spend the cert. on paper instead of books etc. Its only $25 so I thought I'd get some RC VC should I go with the Multigrade IV or the RC portfolio?

Well it depends. If you want fiber, then go with MGIV fiber. If you want RC paper, then go with RC.

One gets more RC for their money because RC isn't the same as FB. I personally recommend FB, but if you're just toying around then go with RC at first.

I think the OP is talking about the difference between two types of Ilford RC paper - the MG IV RC Deluxe, and the MG IV RC Portfolio. Ilford uses the same fact sheet for both, so I would say that monodave is right - other than weight, they are the same.

I got off track...sorry...I would go with the standard paper...I'm with MattKing...unless you want heavier weight the standard paper preforms close to the same

FYI

I went with the standard MGVI as I found a good deal on Amazon 50shts for $35 !!!

RC Portfolio is just a heavier RC base, absolutely the same emulsion.

Thanks for using your voucher on our products, its appreciated.
