I found an ad about a diopter on ebay, which would solve the problem of having the diopter cheaply made by an optician for my specific eyesight because it does not have to be mounted on a frame:
Can anybody confirm that this can be mounted on the RTS III or the ST or the AX?
Can't see the actual lens but the box is an early one predating the cameras you mention. The AX has a Diopter Adjustment: Built-in diopter adjuster, correctable range +0.5D to -2.0D, RTSlll and ST Dioptric Adjustment: Internally adjustable +1D to -3D,

I believe you need the FM type diopter for those cameras. The plain glass diopters are for the older cameras that also need a frame to use. I think the FM diopters come in a box IIRC.
Thank you so much! So I understand that the standard eyecup is held in place by a ring with a 0 graded glass inside, and an fm diopter is just the same ring but having a graduated glass inside. In that case, I would just bring the standard ring to my optician to have it replaced with my custom lens?
