Where to get Rubber Stamps?

I'm looking for a rubber stamp to stamp the back of FB prints that intend for sale. Just curious where you can get custom stamps made, what information is important to include and what kind of ink to use that won't harm the photo or seep through.

I miss the smell of bakelite matrices and vulcanizing stamp rubber... Probably no good for me because of the asbestos...

The new custom ones are probably all photopolymer which is fine.

There are plenty of arts and crafts shops catering to rubber stamping. I think they make some pigment stamp pads in really cool colors. I'd look for something like that.

Why rubber and not stone? They're more solid and IMO easier to use.

Don't use stamps on photos the ink will bleed trough the paper at some point in the future. Maybe not in the next 20 years but it will happen sooner or later.

i only used to stamp my address on the back of direct mail pieces, never
any photographs sold as photographs. i only use a soft pencil for that.
i use the embosser whenever i send out an estimate or bill, official correspondence or something like that ...

If you printed with a border and had a nice stamp done, you could just stamp the front, which is what many Chinese artists do (actually most of them stamp it to be part of the piece, so it ends up wherever there's space to spare).

This is could be enough to sway me from stamping the back of a print. I know many dry mount their prints then stamp the back of the mount. This is a nice idea, but I do not dry mount. I'd like to number and provide info and sign the print on the back. It'd be nice to have a simple template like a stamp where I can just fill in the information.

If you include a copyright notice - leave out the year...

Don't ask me how I know... Dang, I say that a lot maybe make a good thread in itself.
