Hey all,

Looking to buy some photo zines in person. I'm going to NYC in a couple of days, but until then I'll be around Edison and Garfield, New Jersey.

Anyone know places I might drop by?

(I already have a short list for NYC: Printed Matter, Dashwood Books, and McNally-Jackson.)

Save your money. Go to the library and look at "Popular Photography" and "Modern Photography" as well as other photo magazines from the 1950s to the 1970's. The techniques and technical articles are still accurate and the reviews are actually accurate. That was before the magazines became shills for the advertisers.

For example from "Modern Photography" I found this. https://www.scribd.com/document/2604955/jiffy

Barnes and Noble has a pretty good selection, my nearest branch is Paramus NJ. They usually have all the popular "camera" magazines, also a good choice of "art" photography, including US, Canadian and European publications.

Hello Danny
Am presuming you mean Zines as opposed to 'Photography Magazines.' Slight difference between a hand made A5 volume and some old camera mag from the 70s!

You might need to explain the difference here!

If you produce them yourself you should submit to a friend's gallery in London for their Zines of the World event coming up. It's fascinating to look through hundreds of Zines hanging from string from all over the world.

Yes, that is what I meant, not professional magazines. Thanks for the heads up, I'll check it out.
