Where to buy CR2 batteries in Paris France? Specifically on the Left Bank in the Saint Germain area. I had bought spare batteries, but they are not in my camera bag.

I could grab them off your desk and FedEx them to you, if that would help. 😂

The inner city Carrefours and Auchans are unlikely to have any CR2's in stock. These are mostly tiny supermarkets only retailing the necessities. You want one of the larger ones further from the city center. I'd take the Metro and/or RER to a hypermarche outside of the peripherique.

Would you generalize..."at Carrefour or Carrefour Market, but not Carrefour City or Carrefour Express" ?

I would certainly suggest to just skip the Express and City locations, yes.

The most straightforward way IMO would be to just go on Google Maps and tap some locations of these supermarkets, and then select one that looks decently sized, with its own parking lot, etc. I just had a quick peek and pretty much none of the supermarkets in the city proper look like they'll have much in the way of batteries etc. They'll carry AA's and AAA's and some button cells, and that'll be it, for the most part.

I'd suggest taking up on @Daniela's advice and seeking out the nearest FNAC.
Alternatively, look for actual camera stores; a few of them are still around. E.g. https://www.antiq-photo.com/ or https://photosuffren.com/ Even if they don't have these batteries, they'll likely be able to pinpoint @Sirius Glass into the right direction. Sirius' command of French will surely help.

Asking for a battery in a foreign language is usually easy; you just wave the dead one at the assistant, and look hopeful.

Anyhow, the carrefour in Ivry sur Seine seems to stock a CR2; (https://www.carrefour.fr/s?q=CR2) and click on the little blue house to find a store.

1001 piles ( 1001 batteries) have several outlets in Paris, I'd try to find one.
Boulevard Beaumarchais has a lot of camera shop, so it could be a good place ( may be not for your crédit card...)

I got lucky! The camera store was 25 meters from the hotel and the batteries were fully charged!! The last time in Paris I walked the Champs de Elysee store by store for kilometers and when I bought the batteries for the Hasselblad PME, the batteries were bad. I did not know that and ended up taking a taxi to the Bastille area to buy a Sekonic lightmeter for over 300 Euros for the rest of the trip.

Thank you for your responses.

For other photographers who might have similar needs in the future, could you name the store and the street on which it is located?

BTW, I can highly recommend going to Sacre Coeur church in Montmartre and set youself in the pews just before Vespers (evening prayer) at 18.00...the resident nuns have the most gloriously beautiful singing voices! 'Angelic' is an apt description. My wife and I happened upon Vespers there while visiting France a few months before the sad Notre Dame cathedral fire.

Hey, Sirius, you might want to visit Jeu de Paume. There are two exhibitions: F. Horvat and van der Keuken. I really enjoyed their work.
