Hi all ... I've recently purchased a 500CM from the USA. The lens is a 80mm/2.8 CF Planar. The cap that was shipped with it is useless (very loose, constantly falling off when travelling in my camera bag). Any suggestions for a supplier of a brand new cap. Just had a look at B&H and they don't seem to stock them.
Cheers
I have two solutions: original bayonet cap that works fine on a 2003 vintage 80mm CFE or the Hasselblad B60 to 67mm adapter on the same lens and a very inexpensive 67mm plastic cap covering a heliopan yellow or Hoya UV filter.
get a roll of electrical, or preferably gaffer's(make sure its gaffer's, NOT DUCT) tape from your local hardware store...
cut some off, and glue to the inside of your lenscap's bayonet fitting. should be nice and snug now, and you now have another 50yards of tape to do so with what you wish. another 10 years of fixing things.
ah.... the life of a roll of gaffer's tape! much 'cheaper' that replacement lenscaps.
