Calbe's site has it listed with an option to order but it's in German and the english version site dosnt have an option to order. Thanks!

At calbe website -> English, -> Photochemistry -> Black and White
you can find the eMail-adress and phone number of the person wich is responsible at Calbe for sales in other countries.

In the UK, I've been using Adox APH 09 which is based on Calbe R09 from Retro Photographic. They also have a version of A49.
Dead Link Removed

It's from Adox in Germany (http://www.fotoimpex.de/) though perhaps they also have a US distributor.
Cheers

Which developer are you looking for ?

Best regards,

Mirko

R09 is the developer i need. I emailed Calbe and they responded and said that there is no U.S.A dealer that carries their chemicals so they cannot help me.

If not identical in content, likely to yield indistinguishable results:

Look for Adox APH09, Orwo R09, Foma R09, or Calbe R09. Some are discontinued or renamed, but may still be on shelves.

lee, I received some Fomadon R09 today from freestyle today and hope to try it this week. I bought Calbe R09 apx 4 years ago and after not using it for 2 years i decided to develope a roll of film and was to tired to heat up the water for D76 so i grabbed the Calbe out of the cabinet. The bottle was only 1/3 filled and 4 years old and i could not see any difference in the negatives compared to 4 years prior when it was new. I was told the Calbe had only a 6 month life span after the air hit it, well 4 years later its still perfect.

These are all versions of Rodinal, the R09's claiming to be an older version of the formula that went east of the Iron Curtain after WWII. Rodinal shelf life is legendary, although I've seen some claim that the R09 formula is shorter lived. Any form of Rodinal is worth a test roll before you assume it's dead.
