Where do you keep your films? Fridge, freezer or room

I dump my black and white film in a couple of drawers right above the drawer where I keep my cameras. I go through film quickly and always use it before expiry date. I develop my rolls within a few hours of taking the photos.

I do have some C41 rolls in the fridge but I sometimes forget I should put them there so I occasionally toss some rolls in the same drawer where I keep my black and white film. This is usually Gold 200 or Colorplus 200 which I use, again, well before expiry date.

I haven't noticed any difference between the rolls I keep in the fridge and those I keep in the drawer. I'm considering skipping the fridge altogether in the future given my quick turnaround.

I'm considering a beverage chiller for storing fresh film and paper. It won't freeze, but I don't need it for that. The advantage of one of these is that is has fairly large shelves for a 2' under bench unit.

It will help keep a stock of chilled water, which in California is actually very useful.

And as a 'domestic' selling point, we could have cold beverages upstairs for a certain member of the family!

About three years ago at the height of the COVID pandemic we bought a huge fridge/ freezer more than six feet tall, so we could store more frozen food and avoid going out to buy food too often, and hopefully bypass the risk of contracting the illness, now the disease is less prevent I have loads of room in the freezer to keep all my films.

I use the bottom shelf of the kitchen fridge. In lieu of retail packaging I store my bulk rolled 35mm in capped plastic canisters, inside ziplock bags, inside glass tubs.

My 16mm films have to suffer room temperature.

I've been shooting film since I was 5 years old, and in the early days, it was bought off the shelf, loaded up and shot on holidays.

11 years later I was shooting with a Canon AE-1 Program, A1 and Old F1 - my film consumption was through the roof: film was being bought by the brick or bulk roll, and it was always deep frozen. This continues to this day with E6, C41 and B&W rolls filling two (deep) drawers of my freezer. Bulk rolls of Agfapan 100 & 400 are a major component of my current stash, alongside Agfachrome RS, and various rolls of Kodak and Fuji and an ever-growing pile of expired film too.

It gets taken out 48 hrs before I shoot; and yes, I do have a couple of rolls on hand in the fridge for quick access, alongside the rolls in the cameras.

Not USB-C, which is a neat (quasi) standard. Since about 2021 a lot of office set ups have simplified and audio, video, power and even internet can be supplied to a computer though a single USB-C cable. Phone chargers can be 30-60W; My screen provides 75W and I have seen the max 240W in specs. It's not quite standard as there are non obvious incompatibilities plus then there is Thunderbolt which is USB based. I don´t even follow all of it and have worked in IT departments this time.

Funny anecdote, I thought I lost during a move the roll of 35mm Gold 200 that I exposed in Spring 2021. I found it yesterday inside a partially used pack of Provia 120 in my freezer

Rare film types, which are discontinued, are stored in my freezer.
Current film types, which can be bought fresh when I need new films, are stored in the refrigerator.
