Where do you buy your film?

I would like to have 10 rolls of Fuji Pro 400H 220. The only problem is that it is hard to find 220 rolls. There are tons of 120 rolls.
Where is the best/cheapest place to buy medium format film? I couldn't find any Fuji Pro 400h 220 rolls on ebay...

220 film is becoming increasing difficult to find. There was a thread here recently (last week) about what films are still available in 220 format, and there are not many.

Like the prievocus posts 220 is difficult to find. I usually find 120 B&W film at Freestyle or B&H. Sometimes I buy at the local photograhy store.

The new Kodak Portra 400 is available in 220 size and is also a top class portrait film.

Agree with Ben. Kodak are the only ones making 220 film, and the color neg films that are available in that format are Portra 160 and Portra 400.

I'm afraid that is your choice, but the film is amazing, so don't be sad. You may be in for a very pleasant surprise.

I buy film from my local camera dealer. I'd like to be a part of keeping film local where I live. But sometimes I buy from Freestyle too, if I need something they don't have at the local store, like 5x7" film.

Freestyle lists both Portra 160 and 400 in 220, in stock now. No Fuji in 220.

Freestyle or Samy's, or expired via APUG classifieds. I have a stash of NPH 220 bought via APUG that I have been working through for a few years now. I think I bought close to 20 pro packs for $200 (about $2 per roll), and it is in great shape; as good as new. Just buy expired film from someone who knows it's history and promises your money back if it is messed up. IMHO, don't buy expired film if you don't meet these two conditions (unless you want funky results for a toy camera or something). And don't expect to be able to go out and get exactly what you want quickly when buying expired film. You are less likely to get good deals and more likely not to meet those two conditions I named.

For mail order, B&H is usually a good option in terms of price and selection.

I buy from Freestyle. They're not closed all the time, no stupid made up holidays, and aren't rude to you in public nor on the phone. I used to shop in B&H when I worked in the city, and found it a pain. They herd you like cattle to the film wall, and always seem to be watching you no matter what dept you go into.

Wow! I wish I could invite you all to Tokyo. Pretty much any camera store that actually sells cameras beyond P&S models will generally carry several varieties of Kodak and Fuji medium format film, and just about all of it is available in 120 and 220, although not necessarily at every store. But if you go down to Yodobashi in Shinjuku and manage to find their film shop you'll find a huge inventory of almost every type of medium film imaginable! And lots of large format sheet film too!

I do find them rather short or "don't bother me" on the phone. I have'nt bought much from them, but never found them pleasent about it....

Have you tried Calumet ? Calumet in UK had it for sale at the turn of the year, 220 rollfilm, and I believe Calumet are also in the US. Best of luck. I was considering buying some, when I noticed that there are plenty 220 filmbacks for sale. I then got to know the reason why - they are for sale due to the scarcity of 220 film.
