You mean 120 roll film?

I get mine 2 places. If I am in the city, and the local camera shop is open on the day I REALLY need some rolls, I get it at Murphy's Camera, Lexington KY. OK Prices, and they still have a few rolls of Kodachrome (for $12 each!).

For bulk orders, I order from Freestyle. I like there prices, and they ship fast.

Forums like this and/or individuals. I have scored quite a few deals. Freestyle for fresh color film like Ektar 100. The local camera store if I happen to be there when I need film.

My local shop for large professional prints ect has two fridges containing film from 35mm to 4 x 5. I always buy there.

The professional camera store in my area just got rid of their film fridges so I guess it's online when I want to buy color film going forward.

I live in the 'burbs and local camera stores don't like stocking 120 roll film because they think no one shoots with it anymore so I get my supply from Camera stores in the city.

So far, I'm buying at the one local store that still has B&W film. It's a bit pricey, and they'd probably drop it if not for the university student market. Whenever I'm in there, I pick up a few more rolls of HP5.

Once the weather cools a bit more (so the trucks aren't 100F inside), I'll probably place a large order, probably with Freestyle.

Freestyle has the best customer service I have come into yet! B&H customer service sucks!

I would like to buy from freestyle, but b+h beats their price by .14c/roll on the film I use, so I make up for it by buying all my paper and chemistry from freestyle.

Where they have it. So either at West Photo in Minneapolis (Minnesota, USA), or National Camera in Edina (Minnesota, USA), or Freestyle.
Lately I've been very lucky to run across a friend or two that gave me some film while in a money pinch, if that counts...
(If you read this, you know who you are. Thank you!)

I'm very lucky to have a local retailer with a solid commitment to analog -- Photo Central in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.

Dead Link Removed

Lots of chemistry, darkroom supplies and a good selection of Ilford, Kodak and Rollei films (among others). The occasional, oddball or more unusual item I turn to places like Freestyle but for the big majority of my stuff, I go there.

I usually buy from B&H because it's tax free:smile:, but if I'm desperate for film I buy from freestylephoto.biz because it gets here in 2 days

I buy expired (no more than one year, expired, unless its an amazing price) film on ebay, because I spend all my money on lenses, backs, food, and the like.

Freestyle to stock up, and Samy's to replenish. Freestyle is across town, but Samy's is very close. Freestyle has better selection, significantly lower prices, and employees who live and breath film. Samy's is more oriented toward equipment (including rentals), and has a limited selection of film and chemicals. However, they have a fine staff of employees who are very helpful and friendly, and they have the very basics on hand if needed. I have never had any customer service issues or even any mistakes there.

I go to Pix if I need something after Freestyle or Samy's closes. It is primarily a rental house, so someone is always there on the rental side. You just have to call up and ask them to open the door for you, and the rental clerk will let you go over to the film side and get you what you need.

How many rolls do you buy at once? Is 14 cents savings per roll really worth using two separate retailers? B&H will survive regardless of whether or not people buy film from them. They sell enough of everything else that they could cease carrying film entirely and be just fine. Freestyle, on the other hand, could not. IMO, just give them their 14 cents extra per roll. It is such a small amount. You also only have to pay one shipping charge this way.

I also live in LA and purchase everything from Freestyle. I was just there today and bought a brick of Pan F+ and FP4 in 120. I guess the prices increases have hit here in the states as well...my 20 rolls came to $81 and that's even with my student discount. However, I save on 135 film by purchasing the Arista Premium line in 100 and 400. The only other time I did this was when Ilford was providing film for Freestyles house brands. Ilford and Kodak are the only names I trust for consistant quality. The other Arista brands just seem too hit and miss from what I've read over the years.
