Gleaned from their website @ http://brettwestonarchive.com/

You'll need to call them, or write them to find out what is actually available. They do have a number of images online, but that's not quite like viewing the real McCoy. I drive by on 77 twice a day and have never stopped in for a visit. I suppose I should. I did see the "Out of the Shadow" exhibit twice, and I don't know where that exhibit is today. The last I heard it was on the west coast.

Wish these were available on the East Coast. I've heard so much raving about Brett Weston's prints and how they just blow away all the crappy reproductions out there. I hope to see them in person one day (and that they live up to the hype).

Wow. Ask and ye shall receive. I'm about 4 and a half hours away, but you may have just given me an excuse to convince my wife we deserve a New England mini-cation. Thanks!

You will not be disappointed if you find a way to view this exhibit. It is the same exhibition that was recently at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art in California, and features 150 plus prints. I had the pleasure of being on a small panel at the official opening in Santa Barbara, as I had known Brett for over forty years and had an opportunity to speak about the man behind the images. The catalog is worth purchasing, a bargain at $25. Hope you see the exhibit; be sure to report back.

I saw the other thread similarly discussing how great this exhibit has been and it's killing me. I've been trying to find a way up there, but October has been pilfered by the mundane. Maybe next month will treat me better.

By the way, Merg, do you know if it's possible to get the catalog if I don't make it there?

I saw this at the Phillips. Well worth the trip. You're wife won't be disappointed, even if she's not normally into fine photography. In fact, it might just spark a nascent interest.

Yes, I saw the show when it was in DC. Outstanding exhibition and the catalog is well worth $25. The reproductions are lacking but the essays are outstanding. I learned a few things and thought I'd read about as much as I could find on Brett. Hope you make it. Shawn

The camera shop in Eureka, CA occasionally has some of Brett's work up as well as his dad. I'll have to go down and see what they have up on the wall now. The last show there was 20 or so AA photos.

Call the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. They may still have catalogs.

It wasn't available when I went to the exhibit but I left my name and someone called me as soon as more came in. It is a great catalog....
