This weekend, in another of my sessions with nature, a d.g.t.l-friend of mine came with me and lent me a couple of his 35 mm Zeiss lens collection (CZ 100-300 & 80-200). Instead of carrying my Contax 139Q with me, I decided to take a Yashica FX-3 super (with the expected light conditions a little bit more shutter speed would come in handy, I thought) and that combination was the problem!

We started our session on the beach. While thinking that I was photographing with the min. aperture, the truth was another, both lens did not move from the widest ... That was where I screwed up! I noticed that detail after shooting a whole Fuji Sensia 200, when I was starting with the second one of the 4 rolls of Sensia I took with me, already in the forest. All the pictures of the beach session ruined! ... I discovered then that by slightly unscrewing both lens I could move the aperture ring without any problem, and that's what I finally did, just to avoid using back my humble Yashica 35-105.

I just saw the results of all Sensias, and that expected film was ruined ... but when I was looking at that negative with the light box I found this:

I think those may be salvageable trough careful scanning.
Maybe giving a very high-key feel to them, but still, looks like there is something there ^^

This time I forgot to rotate the preset ring on my Helios 442 and set my Jupiter 21M on Manual. I was shooting at f16 and f22 and I was sunny so I expect a few blank frames ^.^

My worst happened about 30 years ago. I was photographing a wedding when I realized that I hadn't changed film a single time. Turns out, I had failed to ensure that the film was properly secured to the take-up spool. I had made about 100 exposures, but not recorded a single image! I had never felt so sick in my life. Luckily, I was able to redo everything.

I came VERY CLOSE this past Saturday. I decided to do some photography, three miles from my house the low tire pressure light came on so I went directly to the tire store and in removing my cameras from the trunk for them to get to the spare I noticed I had forgotten to bring film.

So maybe you actually have a "low film" sensor in your car, and didn't realize it .

Mamiya 7. Got myself a new yellow filter (08). Found a wide angle lens hood in the cupboard, mounted this, too. Hey, the lens caps even fits the hiod, yeah. Fit so well I actually didn't take it off for the first 8 shots. But then, I guess 80% blank roll is still better than 100%..

What was the last things you totally screwed up? maybe your shutter speed was off, your camera needed a cla
your aperture blades were oily and sticky, you rated your film wrong, you put the wrong film in your camera
you processed your film wrong ... or whatever.

I accidentally set flash mode on my Luna Pro F and, for a few minutes, thought it was broken because the needle wasn't moving one bit.

I loaded two rolls of film in the same canister, both Arista EDU Ultra. Later realized that one was ISO 200 and the other ISO 100 which have different timimgs, and I also realized that 35mm and 120 had different times. I then decided to try semi-stand processing with 1:100 Rodinal. The 120 film came out very dark with multiple wave-like lines running along the film.

I suspect the problem is that I didn't sufficiently mix the developer prior to use. I'll think of this as a learning moment, although I doubt I try semi-stand processing anytime soon. I'm happy with my standard development routines and don't have the free time, or inclination, to troubleshoot my stand processing process.

The last time I developed 2 rolls of 120 on the same reel. I thought I had the 2 rolls taped together like I always do. After developing, I went to remove the film only to see the 2 rolls became 1 fat roll. I ended up with the first frame of the top roll, and the last frame of the bottom roll. It wasn't anything important so lesson learned (I hope) The other recent screw up was the photo I added to my gallery here on apug. I accidentally shot a roll of Ilford PanF at 400 ISO thinking it was Ilford HP5+. I gave myself a good head slap after that one!!!

This just happened yesterday. I was using a sling strap on my Nikon F2. I raised the camera to my eye, took a photo, and slid the camera back to my side. What I didn't know was that the camera came unclipped from my strap. I let go of the camera and it hit the floor hard. That's the first time in almost 40 years of photography that I have dropped a camera. It tweaked the lens and, although it still appears to work, the focusing ring is very stiff. Also, the light meter no longer works. The rest of the camera appears to function fine. I'll have to finish the roll I'm shooting and process it this weekend to see for sure.

I forgot to rotate the preset ring on my 44-2... twice in a row this time. I took 2 shots and went back to the car but noticed that I had forgot to rotate the preset ring so I went back and took 2 more shots...I forgot the preset this time as well. I ended up screwing my 44M-4 with the auto pin

Mini-screwing, I was out with my new EOS 30 and didn't knew that the Mirror Lockup function was activated. Im so used to use cameras with the bare minimum options that I was quite confused when the viewfinder turned black loll

I snuck onto a very prolific rooftop in Songdo, in incheon, South Korea. I shot an entire roll of tx400. I pushed the film Take-up release switch on my motor drive, and then immediately diverted my attention to my cohorts and started conversing. I finished talking and popped open the back, fogged an entire roll, and then about 45 seconds later, while loading the next one to redo the shoot, was busted by security and escorted off the premises.

I just hope the first few frames are salvageable.

Using a Grafmatic film holder. It has been a while since I last used it so I made some mistakes by pulling the dark slide too soon. Also a possible double exposure. I will have to see when I develop the film.

I forgot to turn off my EOS 30.... it was ON for 20 hours and now the batteries are 80% drained. Brand new CR123 :-(

edit: I finished the roll, rewound it and now the battery show as full... Oh well.

Just devd 2 rolls of trix. One I didn't realize my flash was malfunctioning, so half the frames are completely under exposed, and the other I fogged 1/3 the whole roll.
