This beauty arrived yesterday - my first ever film camera. You know how difficult it is when you are born in the 'digital' era ! Yes - that's a fully functional Yashica GSN 35

Strangely, having posted about my Voigtlander Bessa yesterday, today I've inherited Andy K's (my brother who passed away last month) Rolleicord vb type 2.
After a brief look at it the most exciting thing is that it has a part used film in it so I'm looking forward to
a : finishing the film and
b : getting the film developed to see the last images my brother shot.

Well I figured I'd share a couple pics with my fellow film nerds. So that F that I picked up was real nice and clean with its FTN prism, but I tracked down a pretty clean plain prism (it came from KEH and was a little dirty with a couple very small dings, but I cleaned it up easily) and now it's just perfect. Perfect I tell you.

Yes it is, it looks just like mine! The F with plain prism balances perfectly with the lens you have on in the photo (Nikon's best 50 IMO, I have 2), the 35/2.8, and the 28/3.5 - both of which are inexpensive and very good.

I already had a 50 1.4 AI and 35mm 2 AI-s with my FM2n that I've got lurking about but I agree that 50mm f/2 H is a wonderful optic indeed!

I had two 1.4 NAIs and a 1.2 NAI, I got rid of all of them when I discovered the 50/2. One just sold here for $35, an AI or AIS. Quite possibly the biggest bang for the buck in 35mm photography right now.

A few years ago, I needed some money and sold my RB67. I very soon regretted it and recently, I started to look for something to replace it.

Before I had the RB67, I bought a Bronica ETRS which was the cheapest medium format SLR I could find. I often wondered if I had bought a SQ, instead, would I have bought the RB as I like the square format and waist level finders.

I started to look at SQs for sale... until the older S2 cameras caught my eye. After a while I found this one for sale for a good price and separately, the Nikkor 200mm lens in a camera dealer's sale (I also have the standard Nikkor 75mm which the camera came with).

Anyway, it turned up yesterday and here it is on my father's old Linhof tripod which is of similar vintage (1960s).

Very nice, including the Linhof head! I did did the opposite of you a couple of years ago. I had a square-format Bronica (EC-TL) and traded for a Mamiya RB system. I'm very glad to have the RB but I miss the Bronica and Nikkor lenses. I hope you enjoy the S2, Steve!

My latest is a black Nikon FG-20 with its Series E 50mm F1.8 2nd version.

Thanks! The FG-20 turned out to have a rough winding. just a bit noisy on the gears, so it will need a service.
And today I couldn't resist to another Nikon EM and its Series E 50mm F1.8. Both 1st version, all black! Ufff, I like EMs!

New to me F1n

I just added a Canon F1n ( not New F1 ) to my collection. Nice solid clean camera that hasn't previously been used as a hammer . All it needed was seals replaced. Looked like the PO started the job but did not finish, did provide the foam kit. I had it finished up in an hour. Came with a Vivitar Series 1 35-85 F2.8 Vari Focal, also seems to be a nice lens. I shot a quick roll of B&W yesterday to make sure everything worked OK. Before shooting, I noticed an alkaline battery was installed so I replaced it with a zinc air before heading out ( the alkaline was new and seemed to put things about 2 or so stops off ). I ran though all the speeds ( even slower than I can hand hold ). After processing, all the frames were exposed the same and seemed to be the right density, so happy that it is metering well and would also seem to indicate the speeds are still all good. Today I'm out shooting some Provia 100 which should give a better idea as to exposure. I also like the reasonably tight area for meter sensitivity, gives me a better feel for what I'm actually metering on.

It joins a, Nikon FE2, Olympus OM1, Vivitar 220, Yashica FX3, Mamiya 1000DTL, Minolta X-700, Canon EOS-3, Mamiya RZ67, Yashica 124G. The Vivitar 220 and the FX3 are probably the only ones I don't take out and shoot with. The OM1 and FE2 are probably my favorites to shoot with, with the FE2 having my favorite metering setup.

Still on the hunt for a Nikon F3 and Olympus OM4

SRT 200, got it yesterday. My sister had it in her basement since the 80s. The battery for the light meter still works!

I've just finished working on an SR T MC that I paid £10 for. No experience of using Minoltas, though a friend had an SR T 100b in the 70s and I always thought it felt a bit more refined than my Pentax. A web search reveals that the MC was made specifically for sale through J.C.Penney and K-Mart, so presumably US only. Mine is black as I gather they all are.

The SRT-MCs may all be black (don't know), but not the SRT-101's-202's. Otherwise, I believe the MC is a cross between a 100 and a 101.

Bronica ETRS, with an AEII prism finder, a 50/2.8 lens, and two backs: a 120 and a Polaroid. Seems to be in fine shape too. Soon I'll have a battery,
but the default unpowered shutter sounds crisp.
