Whats your favourite chemistry and why?

ILFOTEC HC, pushes HP5 very nicely.

Good one
If you're concern with the dangers of it, use Polaroid, it will minimize the possibilities, that you will drown while making photography.

I use Polymax T for films and HC110 for papers (as an additive )

My usual film developer is D-76 and paper developer is either PQ Universal or Multigrade.
Ilford Stop-Bath.
Ilford Rapid-Fixer
A lot of Kodak Photo-Flo wetting agent which I was given for free.

My regular films are FP4 Plus & HP5 Plus, but I will be trying other films in 2014 and may be a different developer.

Rodinal and Diafine. My visits to the darkroom are irregular and can be far between so I needed some developers that works well and are close to immortal. I like the way they make my negs look, the speedincreasing effect of Diafine and the versatility of Rodinal.
Best regards

Also known as Diprotonium Oxide, nasty stuff, especially if inhaled but its also known to cause burns.
I use it daily for extractions from a brown granulate that originally comes from a plant of the Rubiacca family

D76 for film, Dektol for paper, indicator stop bath, usually Kodak Fix, with some experimenting, for 50+ years.
