They look breathtaking--my idea of a projector! How's the lens quality? Does it have a heat-absorbing glass? Can you get bulbs? THANKS

The story is that it is the poor man's version of the Prado. It is the most simple Leitz 35mm projector.

It has heat absorbing glass.
The condensor and the lens can be substituted for a model for 18x24mm (Elmar lens).
The standard condensor and lens, Elmaron (80 or 100mm), will cover up to 40x40mm.
The slide stage can be substituted for a model for film strips.
Lamp would have to be get used or from old stock.

Breathtaking look... Well chip j, in many cases you seem to have a special attitude...
But yes, it reveals slide projecting in its basic form.

Thanks, AgX, I was hoping you would answer. My "special attitude" is that of an aesthete--I have a BA in Art History and have never stopped studying art. I just discovered the Prado Universal--it's a beaut too, but w/a modern lamp. Are these designed for a hall or the home also?

The Prado Universal is the successor of the Prados. Same features, but with a straigtht-line design.

I hoard cameras and projectors for their esthetical/ergonomic design, not for name or value. And the Pradix is unconventional. Looking at its right side, with cut-in corpus and its wire feet it looks light. And carryability is its intention.
But there are much more intriguing models made.
