A question that has spun from another thread and didn't want to change the subject there. (there was a url link here which no longer exists) I'm just wondering what has actually become of that plant. Is it just sitting? Burned to the ground? What? Any ideas? Most other threads are dated back to 2005 ( it's closure,I believe?) and have no mention as to the future of it.
If it is like the Toronto plant it will have been flattened to cut its property tax value, and then not sold unit someone wants to take on whatever contaminated soil issues might eventuate from what was essentially some nasty chemicals that may have been spilled at some time.
Kodak Park in Rochester is currently on the hook for attempting to control undereground plume of past leaks/disposals. www.epa.gov/region2/waste/fskodakp.htm for a little light reading of what a over a century of manufacturing can leave you with.
