Whats in your camera bag?

Not half as much as there was, I took most of my camera bodys in for a service about a week ago and I feel like I've lost a limb, I thought it was about time after more than twenty years regular use,we don't expect our cars to go for so long without attention, so why our cameras ?I just have a Canon T90 left until I get them back, the work is going to cost probably almost as much as the're worth, but I enjoy using them and I'm very attached to them.

"reusable shopping bag" -thats a good idea! You never know when you will need to carry more stuff.

I always carry a new pedal bin liner in my pocket in case of a quick rain shower when I'm shooting to get my camera in quickly.

I don't really like camera bags so I was surprised when I worked out that I owned about ten of them.

They get used to keep things in at home but when I go out I usually carry the camera without a bag as I used to end up with the camera in my hand and carrying an empty bag.

My one exception to this is a small canvas bag for which I made a polystyrene and cardboard insert to carry my Minolta XE-1 and three lenses. The best thing about it is that it doesn't look anything like a camera bag (and it cost about £4).

It was my intention to make other inserts for other cameras but I have not done this yet.

Everyday, I carry in my office bag:

-notebook,
-personal stuff (mobile, wallet, keys,…)
-Ricoh GRDIII (quick shots of products, macro, grab shots on the way)
-Nikon D3 or Leica M6 with 2 rolls, when the evening is not set

For casual walks around the city I carry in an old washed out cotton satchel:

-Nikon D3 or Leica M6 (very rarely with max one more lens)

For going out not specifically for taking photographs:

-Ricoh GRDIII with one spare battery - no bag needed

Usually one body and 1-2 lenses at the most. It could be 4x5, 5x7, 35mm or digital. If I take an 8x10 out I don't put it in a bag.

gum, earplugs, 3 year old travel insurance policy, exotic beer labels, dried up pens, rubber bands, one cable tie, expired internet dongle thingy, 0.25mm pipettes (x3), 2 condoms and a LED Lenser

Depends on which bag.... but always carry a lenspen, paper/pen to write stuff down, specs, and at least 2 cameras- one SLR and one compact...

Hmm Id ditch those condoms if I where you. chances are they are gone bad and youll get into trouble iiiif....

I have a couple of different bags, one small backpack and a shoulder bag, in the backpack is my light meter, 6x9 roll film back, notebook, filters, laser range finder, shutter release,120 film. in the shoulder back is my 75mm SA, 65mm SA, 47mm SA, 152mm Ektar, 203mm Ektar. several film holders for shooting 4x5

NO, NO, do not do this, condoms are very good to protect a (long) lens against the rain. Do not forget to make a hole in the top, this time it is allowed...
Condoms can hold a rather large amount of liquid, in North Africa (the Atlas) I have seen someone carrying diesel in it for his Land Rover, he ran out of fuel. He was actually running fast, very fast, whit two of them (one in each hand) because the diesel was slowly reacting with the latex...

A condom is a very use-full 'tool', beside its obvious purpose...

2. Slip 'er over a payphone to avoid "NASTY" germs
3. Bathing cap (if you stretch it in the right manner)
4. Neat travel case for your toothbrush
5. Wet suit for a ferret My favorite
6. Finger puppets
7. Travel size shampoo and conditioner holders
8. Use it to store that urine sample next time you go to the doc for a checkup
9. Rubber boot for a peg leg
10. Latex toe warmers
11. Stuff, and use to stop drafts under doors
12. Fill with rocks and use to as a weapon in a crisis situation
13. Makeshift sandbags in the event of a flood
14. To keep candles dry when camping
15. Build your own incredible "Water Weenies"
16. To quickly fill water pistols
17. Bicycle tire tube
18. Change purse
19. Goodyear Blimp model
20. For those long car trips that dad hates to stop for potty breaks

My father told me they were issued to the British troops on D Day on the landing craft to put on the muzzles of their rifles to keep the sea water out, he said it was most confusing, the soldiers thought they were there to fight the enemy, not f**k them !

Heh heh,

They are the normal type but the sound dept at work here (I work backstage in theatre) use un-lubricated ones as waterproof sheaths around wireless radio mic transmitters, these are usually held in a kind of 'bum-bag' thing under the costume at the base of the spine... Quite a sweaty area once you're doing back flips in a tuxedo.

They usually raise an eyebrow or two when they are found in your stuff (I've used them to waterproof servos and small electronics) - un-lubricated huh ? ok.... hmmm....
