I was known as "gainer" in a former APUG life. It appears that updating my Windows XP caused my demise. At about the same time, I changed my email address to pgainer@Hughes.net. APUG administrators in all their great wisdom have made it impossible to change my email address. There is a "Catch 22" somehwhere in APUG. If I tried to re-register as "gainer" with the new email adress, I was denied. If I tried to re-register as "gainer" with the old email I was denied because "gainer" was already in use. Besides, it would not have worked because that address is not in use.
Do you still have access to your old e-mail account? If you do, you should be able to log in as "gainer," click on the link to retrieve your password, and have your password sent to your old account. If you can't access your old account, Sean should be able to fix it for you.
Here's a tip I give all of my computer clients. Get a Gmail account. It looks like you are using your ISP's email. I've never set up an account with my ISP because it changes if I move or if their service is crap. Gmail or any other web mail service goes with you wherever you go. I changed my email address about 6 years ago when I got my Gmail invitation. I haven't changed since and don't plan to. I used to change about every two years before. Lots of sites have similar issues with email addresses that this one does. I used to have problems like yours when I frequently changed my address. I haven't had a similar problem in years.
