It’s just a reply to your post that brings the post (your sale) to the top of the classifieds listings and therefore more visible on the front page of the classifieds section and in the What’s New view.

Only supposed to do once a week, I think.

"Bring Up My Post".
I've moved this to the Classifieds Rules, Feedback, News & Discussion sub-forum.

As far as how often, the "How the Classifieds Section Works" thread at the top of the Classifieds forum has all sorts of helpful hints, including this:
"If your item doesn't sell within a few days, we understand that you might want to periodically bring back the public's attention by posting a reply and thereby 'bumping' it to the top of the list. We kindly ask you to do this at most every 5 days or so"
You can find that thread here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threa...on-works-read-this-first.204146/#post-2899917

Once a week or two is usually enough. Here is an unsolicited bump.

What do I need to do??
If you intended to just ask what 'bumping' was because that part confused you, I assume the posts above will get you back on track.
If you need help creating your ad and/or you're running into trouble with that, please don't hesitate to reach out for help. We'll happily help you set up your sale and/or explain how to do this yourself.
The link @MattKing provided should get you on your way:

Thanks guys.

(Please understand that I was going back and forth with my buyer over three days since I was out and about)

Now, on Friday I had a back and forth online conversation with the buyer about the items for sale, of which I had to answer
additional questions for him on Saturday, at which time he decided to buy the 2 items.
I contacted him back later on Sunday to get the information for shipping when I was locked out for bumping.
Anyways, I got bumped out twice.
Let me know how I can prevent this.

when I was locked out for bumping.
Can you tell us what specifically happened? I see a few recent ads from you, but as far as I can tell, none of us intervened in any way. Nor do I see any reason why we would have done so. I also don't see anything that amounts to your being 'locked out' of anything. It would help greatly if you could specifically indicate what happened, what kind of notifications you received etc. So please describe:
* What did you try to do when you experienced a problem?
* Which forum thread, for-sales ad or private conversation was involved in this situation?
* What message, notification, email or error prompt did you receive when you ran into the problem you highlight?

Let me know how I can prevent this.
Assuming we're talking about a recent ad of yours where some people asked questions and you responded: that's perfectly fine and we do not consider it 'bumping'. We can sometimes intervene if sellers post a response to their own for-sale thread without there being any activity by others in that thread.

I'll also alert @Sean to this; it's possible there's an automatic anti-bumping script that intervened while it shouldn't have been doing this. @Sean, can you look into this please?

PLEASE use the Private Conversation for discussions about the terms of a particular transaction - things like final price, shipping, payment arrangements.

Thank you for any help.

On this Sunday past I wrote to the Buyer as to his required mode of shipping for his merchandise, (he's in Hawaii),
how the items would be packed, and when they would ship once I received the payment.
Once I sent the note everything I wrote disappeared except for the So I thought that it was a bump situation.
figuring I did something wrong.

Thanks Matt! How do I get into Private conversations?

P.S. This time I was only noting the size of the glass items. ???

It kicked me out again

Thanks for your response. Can you specify please where you wrote this, and also whether you received any notifications, messages etc. when you tried to post it and your text disappeared?

How do I get into Private conversations?

You click the user name of the person you want to start talking to, then select "start conversation":

To access your private conversations, click the 'Inbox' link at the top right of your screen; it'll take you to a list of conversations that are ongoing.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you're referring to. Are people sending you private messages with questions? I see no responses on the public forum to your ads. Please keep in mind that as moderators we cannot and don't want to read your private conversations - they're private after all!
