Recently acquired a sweet Leica III, a g model from 1939. Has a Summar lens which is actually a pretty good performer. It's serial number puts the lens from 1935, but it makes good images.

paid for another repair on my favourite lens.
so, two repairs and the initial cost of purchase, total cost of ownership over 2 years best part of £300.
replacement lens from ebay could be got for about £120.
or about £30 if I made do with oem versions.

hmm.
no wonder I have to feed myself from bins ...

Superwides are tiny though....of course there's also the possibility of using a 110mm Super Symmar XL on 8x10.

A beautiful, like new black Canon 100mm f3.5 ltm lens. Now I need to find a 100mm finder (there is one on eBay but I only buy from 99% minimum satisfactory sellers) that is clean and crisp.

Some rolls of that nice FT-12 High Contrast B&W film from Nik & Trick in Folkestone, Kent.
On eBay, a second-hand cable release with cylindrical thread and a 1/4" to 3/8" metal screw tripod adapter, both for use with my Flexaret Standard.

The film I'm using has been of recent manufacture (no older than 2015), but it's not marked 2.0. So, I've found it necessary to place it in my pocket or a small container immediately after it's ejected from the camera - otherwise it will be severely affected. Having done that, within a few minutes I usually am able to go someplace, work, home, a car, where I can keep the photo in total darkness for an hour. After that, the photo seems to be completely developed.

My oldest Impossible photos are from early this Spring and so far show no signs of fading. One is in my kitchen and is exposed to soft early morning light through the windows (not direct sunlight) and it has not faded as far as I can tell.

Yesterday I went to an auto parts store and bought a big soft carwash sponge ( following a hint from pdeeh ) and also some pads that are meant for applying auto polish. I'm going to try using them to apply arrowroot sizing, where evenness of the coating is critical. I've been using a big soft cellulose sponge, and it works well, but leaves annoying tiny bits of itself behind.

On Saturday, a package arrived with 8 new kinds of paper to try. Interestingly, I've found that arrowroot sizing tends to emphasize screen markings on papers. I'm hoping that I'll like one of the 8 new kinds. And that if I do like one, it won't change before I can order more. And if it works on half of a sheet, it will work on the other half, and on others from the same batch!!

A couple of Nikon lenses, 50/1.4 Ai and 28/2 AiS, plus a bunch of film.
I sold the Nikon F and bought a FE2, so it's time to get all new lenses.
Maybe the old pre-Ai lenses will go in the bag with the F3, not sure what to do with them yet.

Nikkor W 210mm and a Sinar lens board with a Copal #1 hole. Shot with it last Saturday and I can't wait to get in the darkroom and process the sheets.
