what waS your last photography related purchase?

Stopped at the local camera store and picked up a bag of Legacy Pro Hypo clear since I have been working with a lot of fiber based paper lately, and a Minolta AF-Tele camera just because. I would have bought some fixer as well, but that place never has any in stock. Several developers, but no fixer.

Why do people do that? Drives me nuts when a perfectly good, relatively new lens/shutter does not have the mounting ring. ARGH!!!

Good Evening,

Earlier today I bought a gallon-size package of Dektol from the local photo shop. It cost $14.99!!! Good thing I don't print a lot and that Dektol lasts a long time.

darkosaric is sending me 5 rolls of Foma Retropan 320 and 3 rolls of APX iso 100.
 
A Nikon LS50 Scanner, used but with only 1 weeks use, then reboxed and put away. The scans at full resolution are so good and at 69MB will make prints of almost any size I want. I may have to give up my darkroom because it will be required to be turned back into a bedroom. I will continue using film though until I 'turn up my toes'.

A sand-colored Domke F-1X "Little Bit Bigger" shoulder bag, along with a second 4-compartment insert. This is intended to hold a full Mamiya C330S kit, including all seven lenses.

Oh, and a few more GE#5 flashbulbs for my future retirement stash, of course...

From B&H: Another brown "waxed" Domke F2 bag and a replacement insert to better accommodate my AF Nikkors (17-35 F2.8, 28-70 F2.8, 80-200 F2.8 and my 50 F1.4), none of which fit properly in the F2's standard configuration.

I've already made a small (300ml) batch of Pyrocat-HD and a clip test ensured it works.
I'll try some 400TX in it tonight.

What's that going to weigh Ken ? I have only four lenses for my Mamiya C330F and it's heavy enouigh in a Domke F2 bag which is smaller than the F1-X.

More than a Domke F2, Ben, for sure...

But the new bag really isn't intended primarily as a walk-around. It's more for those occasions when I wish to travel with the entire system. Like weekend photo trips, where I might spend a few days in some middle-of-nowhere remote location.

(Here's my most recent destination for four days of such relaxing exploration. This region in southeastern Washington State is called The Palouse. Five minutes out of this town and it's more remote and minimalist than being on the moon.)

In these cases I may want to bring along the whole tomato, because one never knows. But like you I also have a smaller (and much older) Domke F2 bag which I can use to carry only a few slices of the tomato at a time.

Then if I'm walking around that day, I'll size up the expected activity and perhaps choose a subset of lenses (maybe two, or sometimes three) to work with that afternoon, and into the F2 bag they go. Everything else can stay behind in the hotel room (if it's secure), or in the hotel safe until I return. Or if I'm driving instead of walking, I can easily bring the whole tomato along with me for the afternoon.

Then when that rare subject unexpectedly introduces itself and needs the slow 250mm... at night... on a tripod... with a prism finder (?)... and a paramender (???)... an eight hour drive from home and I'm still good to go.
