IIRC that's quite a lens. I'm sure someone has the dedicated lens hood somewhere.

I have read good and not so good reviews on this lens but for the price I paid it was worth trying and with an adapter on my Fuji it's looking very good. Cost me just 1/3 what everyone else was charging and it looks mint.
Hoods seem to be non existent as far as I can tell so I have been trying "alternatives"with very little luck until after I posted yesterday. Many years ago I was gifted one of those lens mugs that hold coffee etc. and I use it to hold pens/pencils. It seems that the hood slips onto the lens snugly so all I need to do is cut out the center, a little filing and possibly trim the petals and I will have a nice hood. Versatility reigns supreme with lens and hood.
Now I will see about a way to attach a filter...

Got it cut out, it fits nicely still needs a little fine tuning and will be ready to take some "mug shots".

I'm really liking this rebadged Shanghai. I need to stock up on more 8x10. For reciprocity correction, I've been using Shanghai 100's. Works perfectly well.
 
I've been on a spending spree over Christmas. In preparation for impending old age, I have decided to buy a new 4x5 camera and opted for a Stenopeika Michelangelo plus 5 film holders. I'm not selling my 8x10 Tachihara...yet, so I bought an Atlas Adventure pack to carry it and found that the 8x10 wouldn't fit and that's without adding film holders. So I'm keeping that for the Stenopeika when it arrives and I bought a 70 litre F Stop backpack and the 8x10 only just fits in that. I can only carry 5 film holders but that will have to be enough. I also bought a Leophoto LM 404CL with a ball head. I have ordered a geared head as I found the ball head hard to work with for 8x10. I also finally got around to getting a Cokin X pro filter holder and adapter rings and a red filter.
 
2 x bottles of Tulip "Slick" dimensional fabric paint, black. I have a wacko experiment to perform on my Whole Plate camera with bellows that are perforated on every pleat and corner.

I am going to coat the entire bellows with several layers of this supposedly flexible black fabric paint and see if it will cure the light leaks and be durable.

Not real optimistic, but a $10 gamble might allow me several months of use prior to ordering a new bellow.

First coat is on and it's surprisingly flexible and only slightly tacky. Covered most of the tiny holes, but some corner holes are still there and will undoubtedly take a few more coats to seal.

The real test will be folding the camera up and seeing if it even will unfold after being stored!

No guts, no glory...
 
Hi,

a 9x12cm back for my 1930s Zeiss Miflex microscope camera.
Fine condition, even with the lens element that makes round or fully illuminated pictures...

Now looking for some Zeiss Ikon / Ica 726/6 plate holders - my 737/6 2-plate holders don't fit - and sheet film inserts.

I did that and ended up having to add a final coat of the cheapest acrylic flat black paint I could find, because the fabric paint never stopped being tacky (the cheap acrylic paint did, though). Good luck - maybe your paint will be different.

Good tip; I will keep that in mind. Other than that, has it been fairly durable?

Yes, but the camera doesn't get a lot of use. Maybe 2-3 times a year. It's a Gundlach 8x10 something-or-other - like a Kodak Home Portrait camera.
