A non-photography book (hey, it's analog). This year I specifically said "no film;" I have a drawer full and need to work my way through some of it before getting more.
I did receive a gray Ferrania "Effe" t-shirt and a "Feranniacolor" t-shirt.

I got myself a FUJI GW670iii in pretty good shape. The lady of the house gave me a Nikon Eyepiece Correction Lens (-2) to fit on the FUJI -
my daughter gave me several rolls of film. Good girls !!

Giftcards (mentioned earlier) were exchanged for Steve McCurry's The Iconic Photographs and Helmut Newton's Polaroids. My niece and my little sister are the best!

My 7 year old grandson got me a 25 sheet box of Ilford paper and two rolls of HP5+. I have promised him that he can shoot one roll so that we can develop and print together in the darkroom.

I am sure that when he sees the picture suddenly showing up in the paper during development, he'll be hooked for life. Or so I wish...

Presents to myself really, old but new AN glass sheets that I will try to cut for my negative holders, a used wide angle bellows for my wista, and a used vc 24mm f4 pancake that has yet to arrive but I am really looking forward to using which was the biggest purchase for myself this year. Cutting back on gas a lot. I am pretty happy about my current setups now. Im actually thinking to sell some cameras I don't use much anymore like my nikon f3s and Ai and ais lenses.

My brother-in-law gave me his EOS-650 and a couple zoom lenses (28-70 f/3.5-4.5 and 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 USM). With receipts and warranty cards, camera bag and Kodak lens cleaning fluid and tissue and a half-dozen rolls of Kodak HD400. He'd traded in his Pentax 6x7 for this camera and kit lens nearly 30 years ago (one of the memorable pictures he took with the 6x7 was fireworks at the Golden Gate Bridge 50th anniversary)...

It was six months before I'd met my wife, so I didn't have the chance to tell him not to trade in the better camera. With the trade-in he was out $225 cash. (Who knows maybe they threw in the case and lens cleaning fluid and tissue).

The history continues with the 100-300 zoom appears to be a birthday present from his wife. The camera and lenses are in truly great shape. Gave it a good cleaning, there was some gunk on the shutter blades that I'm sure would have caused a problem so I cleaned that with acetone and toothpicks.

What the heck am I going to do with it?

Well I can't see myself buying lenses for it... Even the 50mm f/1.8 is outrageously overpriced on the open market. And I'm sure as heck not going to trade in anything I have that might be worth several hundred dollars for a lens that in my mind I should be able to pick up for about $50.

So maybe I'll take it out when I want to blend into the crowd.

The EF 40mm f/2.8 "pancake" lens is new, quite cheap, quite good and nice and tiny

Makes for a very high quality go everywhere camera..

One thing to be aware of with that 40mm lens or any of the other "STM" lenses is that they are "focus by wire" lenses.

Even in manual focus mode, the camera metering needs to be turned on for the focus to work.

The focusing works well, including in manual mode, but it takes a little bit of adjustment until you get used to it.

Especially when you try to manual focus without the meter turned on, and nothing seems to be happening.

Very nice! The S model takes standard 1.5v batteries (or at least includes an adapter)

Bought myself 100 sheets 4x5 film and a 4x5 RPT Cascade Film Holder. The last was probably the best as I was using a old camera case that was bulky and wouldn't stay shut spreading my film holders all over the ground etc. I was using different containers but no way to keep them separated.

My better half very kindly got me a Zero Pinhole 5x4 Camera with two extension sections. When it stops raining I can't wait to get outside and play. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to my handmade 5x4 pinhole.
