What to do with old IR film?

I have some IR film that no one wants because it's older ones that uses a process that is discontinued... what can I do with it, other than put it on the shelf. I'd love to sell them.

IE, EH, and HIE

Hie can be processed in any developer suitable for b+w film. As for E4, I'm in the same boat with the eir I have.

Roll your own dev for the Ektachrome. You'll probably need to make changes to the first dev and give up film speed to account for high base fog.

If you decide to shoot it, I'd be curious to see the results. I've always heard that even when stored in deep freeze, IR films lose their IR sensitivity after a year or two. If I had however many millions it would take to buy the process from Kodak so I could get small batches of fresh HIE, I'd totally do it. That was my favorite film of all time and Kodak's mismanagement killed it. No IR film on the market compares to it because none of them are as sensitive...

how about cross-process the E4 in C41? That's what I will probably do with some EIR that I have.

I used to process E4 in E3 chemicals and use a bulb to get the reversal back in the 70's. I think it would be easier to cobble together an E3 kit than an E4/E6.

From reading up on this a few years ago it seemed that E4 (which has a dangerous neurotoxin instead of flash reversing) can be processed in E3 and flash-reversed. Finally have aoresteen's confirmation, thanks much. I also found a guy who cross processed it in C22 for a negative. Whether any of this would work with the IR stuff is open to question.
