I have a very nice working Olympus OM2.
Unfortunately it appears that some foam gunk has deteriorated and is now encroaching in the viewfinder.

I remember reading that this is a common problem with the olympus cameras but this is the first time I have seen it.

So.. what can I do about it?
Is it just a matter of disassembling the top and cleaning off the foam?
Do i need to replace the viewfinder or prism?
Can i use a donor from a different model like an OM10 or OMPC?

Thanks for all the help!

OM10 prisms will fit. Broken OM10's are available from KEH (As Is) for next to nothing.

You may be able to thoroughly clean the patches off. Not the best solution. Replacing prism is best. John.
