First bit of hate I've seen for the FE. Everything I've heard was that it's pretty durable. Not doubting you, but I'm curious if anyone else here has experience this issue specifically.
I've seen this on both FE and FM. The only durable repair is new part, hard to find these days.

I remember a few FE/FM shutters going south back in the day. Whether this was user error, bad luck, or an incipient problem I have no idea.

Fucking yikes, just got a look a the bottom edge of the upper shutter looks like it took a hit. I don't know if it got pinched by something, but this camera is def. toast.
It is more than likely that bits of the gummy, deteriorated, foam substance used as light seals found its way into the shutter tracks and crashed your Copal. A sad end to a fine film camera.

C'mon, For all the complaining about ebay descriptions it seems there's a lot of
encouragement to do the same BS to someone else. Next time it happens to you, don't
whine about it. Think about it as Karma come round to bite you in the ass.

Parts would be accurate.

Heck that is why eBAy exists. eBay lets one get rid of their trash and screw a stranger at the same time. That is why it is so popular. If I want cameras or lenses I go to APUG, LFPF, KEH or Samys.
