What replaces the discontinued Epson V600 scanner?

I had 3 of them. One died a few years ago. Another one died a few months ago. The last one still works, but it gets lots of use. Who knows when it will die. If I knew they would be discontinued, I would have bought a few more. They are the workhorse of my archive.

What replaces the Epson V600 for paper and small format film scans? And if it can't be replaced for small format film, then just for decent paper scans.

I'm with koraks. When my scanner dies (and I've been using it at least once a week for the past 13 years), that is how I will "scan" my negatives.

I like my V850. I have it on a shelf with roller track things so it lives in a bookcase and comes out when I need it. More compact than a copy stand.

Epson often issues V600 units that have been factory tested and given with a warranty called their Certified Renew. Check their site. I just noticed they have one on sale for $300 with a one year warranty.

Here is the link for the scanners for photos and film usnits (new). Only the V850 is available for film but is $1500 and can be used for 35mm through 8x10" large format. I;ve had both the V600 and this V850. The V850 does a better job with 35mm.
