What Medium Format Cameras Are Members Here Using?

Hi Radost,
Are you happy with the results using this adapter?

Without the mask plate it’s ok. With the plate is awesome. Framing is estimated but I got used to it.

A Pentax 645Nii, and an older Rolleiflex MX-EVS. These two cameras get far and away the most use because they consistently do such a good job. Which one I pick depends on my mood on any given day.

I also will occasionally use a Graflex 23 120 roll film holder with a couple of my 4x5 cameras that allows me to capture 6x9 photos if I am looking for that bigger negative for some reason. This holder seems to do a good job of keeping that larger 6x9 negative flat. I also own a Graflex 2.25x3.25 that uses sheet film that I will occasionally use. The Ektar 127mm lens does a great job and I should probably use it more frequently but I am limited to Ilford or Fomapan/AEU sheet film with that camera.

Finally I do still own a couple of folders, a Kodak and an Agfa. I like and use them because they are very compact and easy to carry around so they kind of function like 35mm cameras do for me.

In no particular order:

Agfa Clack
Holga 120N
Rolleicord IV
Lubitel 166b
Soho Pilot
Balda Baldixette
Chuo Harmony

The last two will be going away soon.

After my Hasselblad 501c just got fixed, it is mu favorite again!

Currently carrying a Rolleiflex Automat (K4B)

Also like the Yashica 635

Trying to use most the cameras in the collection by rotation;
Various 6x6 and 6x9 folders, Zeiss Ikontas/Nettars, Franka Solidas, Agfa Billy Records.

Hasselblad 500CM
Mamiyaflex C220
Mamiyaflex C330

Use the Hasselblad the most after getting back into film recently.

The latest addition to the lineup is a Pentax 67 with 55, 75, 90, 105, 120 soft focus and 165 lenses. It's getting heavy rotation right now as I'm getting used to it. I'm really liking it so far.
The Pentax is going to have a hard time beating your Kodak Chevron. I'm amazed at what you do with that old Kodak. I thought my Medalist had the best lens, but that 78mm Ektar of yours just might edge it out.

They're stylistically two completely different cameras. I wouldn't use them for the same things. One of these days I might add a Medalist to my stable as well, but the whole respooling 620 thing is tedious enough for the Chevron where I only have to give it a 620 takeup spool and can trim down the 120 feeder spool.

Yes, I know the Chevron will never replace a systems camera like the Pentax 67. I have a couple of Pentax 6X7 bodies and nine Takumars. I really like the system and format size, but do miss the interchangeable backs of the Hasselblad. I've been trying out a "new to me" Bronco GS1 so as to keep the format size and have removable backs also, but I'm not bonding well with it as I do with the Pentax.

Due to ever increasing colour sheet film prices, my 6x7 Linhof Super Rollex film back is becoming my new MF camera.

Now you're talking my medium. Favorite is the Pentax 67ii (two bodies, 5 lenses). Also have a C330 (2 lenses) and a Zeiss IKON 6x9 folder. The IKON is in great shape but is slow to use and the lens is soft--probably meant for contact prints from the drug store. Remember those little bound booklets of prints?

The lens on the Chevron is very good. One of the best Tessar-type lenses I have used. One of those lenses that exemplifies the 'classic' look of 1950s B&W photos before everything went clinically sharp. Great out of focus look. I still prefer the Medalist because it is a bit lower contrast and 'draws' more in my desired style, but some day I will add a Chevron for 6x6 work.

Dan,
I have absolutely no complaints about either Ektar lens on my Medalist II or Medalist I. Kodak really hit the mark with the 100mm f3.5 Ektar and the 105mm f3.7 Ektar. Also, the Kodak Anastigmat "SPECIAL" 101mm f4.5 on my Monitor 620 is every bit as good, if not better, than the coated Zeiss Opton Tessar on my mint Super Ikonta C camera. Yes, I'm a big fan of the better Kodak lenses from the 40's and 50's. Like you said, they "draw" more and that's a good way to describe it.

Any thoughts on the angenieux lenses from the French 620s? ( are they anything special? If so can they be reshuttered in a more modern shuttter- i have no idea what size)

I have several mf cameras including Medalist II, Super Ikonta, P6X7 and Bronny S2A but for the past year or so I've been using the Graflex XL coupled particularly to a Zeiss Planar 100mm 2.8 on Instax Mini film. Also have a Grafmatic loaded with Arista 400 in waiting, soon as I get some chemicals to process it.

Another (IMO) really good one is the 4 elements, 4 groups Anastar on the Reflex II. I really need to finish the roll of Ektachrome in mine and get out with something else.

Don,
Yes, I have the Kodak Reflex 1a and its 80mm f3.5 coated Anastar is another very good Kodak lens from that time period.

My go-to medium format camera is a miniature Crown Graphic with the 105mm/3.7 lens. The rangefinder is adjusted to it..
Also have a 100mm/5.6 Apo-symmar and 65mm lenses to use with the ground glass focusing.
Backs are Horseman 6x9 and Graflex 6x6 holders plus Grafmatics.

My Agfa Record III is for traveling extra light.

I have a number of choices for 120 shooters at my disposal but this family of cameras is among my favorite. I have a "Baby" Speed Graphic that I shoot with a 101mm f/4.5 Ektar, a 65mm f/8 Super Angulon, and a 180mm f/5.5 Schneider Tele-Arton.

I mostly use it with sheet film holders, though I do have several of the Graflex RH backs.

How do you find the Horseman back for this camera? I have never much been impressed with the mechanical precision of the RHs, and the Horseman's and Linhofs always looked better to me.
