what LENS(es) are you lusting for - and why..

I am still working on my 5x4 system so these are the lenses I want in no particular order

58 /5.6 Schneider Super Angulon XL
210/5.6 Rodenstock APO Sironar N
350/11 Schneider APO Tele-Xenar (the new one announced at Photkina 2008)

Need to save up my pennies but am in no great hurry.

Really I need to learn to get the best out of what I currently have got before adding to the collection

I had a little fire going for a petzval lens to stick on the front of my Speed Graphic . . . a fellow apuger helped me put out that fire last night. Like many here, I have too many lenses and probably should get involved in a conversation with myself about which ones I could live without. I'll do that later . . . Bill Barber

I have just acquired a Cooke PS945, which I shall be trying out this weekend in my garden. I was surprised that it was lighter than, for example, my Nikkor 120mm f8.

I bought the Mamiya 50mm for my RB, and I love it. Unfortunately, it just made my wide angle jones worse. Mamiya also made a 37mm fish eye that I would love to have. Also, the 16mm Rokkor fish eye. I'm such a slut for the wide angle glass.

I want something wider for my 14x17 - I guess I'll have to look into a 355 G-Claron, but I'd also like vintage brass for a different look. Oh, and a Petzval brass cannon that would cover the format would be nice, but would be very expensive, very heavy, and probably wouldn't even fit on a lensboard that fits the camera (my camera takes a 6 1/4" square lensboard).

Mamiya Sekor 37mm fisheye for RB67. I wanted to do some fisheye shots with my Canons but I found out the Mamiya lens was about the same price and I could take advantage of the larger negatives.

I want the Maniya Sekor 37mm fisheye (for my RB67) myself but can't afford right now. But I do have a fisheye for my Canon FD system which I bought a long time ago.

Ok - that makes me officially jealoux...

Got more (interesting) lenses since my last post, but the Universal Heliar - the Hermagis Eidoscope and maybe the P&S lenses still eludes me...

Any lens/shutter that has more than one speed. I have an old 5x7 Rapid Rectilinear in a Kodak ball bearing shutter that is supposed to have 3 speeds; 1/25, 1/50 & 1/100; but they are all 1/30.:rolleyes: Granted, the shutter is ancient but it kinda limits my exposure range.

Well, I'm no longer lusting after my 250mm GS1 lens - finally landed it late last year.
Of course it has been replaced by my need for the 17mm f4 TSE from Canon's stable.

What can I say except: AWESOME!!!!

Mamiya M645 200mm f/2.8, because I love the 210mm f/4.0 so much, but wish it was faster.

Mamiya RZ 360mm, for landscapes and portraits on 6x7 format.

Mamiya RB 75mm shift lens.

Canon FD 200mm f/1.8, for shooting live music and other events in which I want a low-light-capable telephoto.

Canon FD 300mm f/4 L. Easily hand holdable and very good image quality. I miss the one I used to have.

Canon FD 24mm f/1.4 L, because of its light gathering ability. f/1.4 at '15 shutter is a deadly combination for hand held low light shooting.

Canon EF 135mm f/2.0, for use on digital (and my EOS 3 now, I guess).

Canon EF 28mm f/1.8, for the same reason as above.

Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS, simply because IS is a useful feature in these FLs.

Nikon 105mm f/1.8, for its FL and speed.

Schneider 110mm XL, because of its great FL and coverage. My ideal wide FL on 4x5, and one of the only ones around this FL that will allow generous movement.

I've recently acquired a Hasselblad 500 c/m complete with a 60mm f3.5 80mm f2.8 CT* lenses. I have the Vivitar 2x converter but what I would really like to own are a 150mm and 250mm lens to take portraits and compress perspective on landscape shots.

I'm not after mint (cosmetically), they just need to be solid users with good optics. Still, I'll have to save up the pennies as the piggy-bank is somewhat depleted right now.

Voigtlander 12mm M mount. I've wanted a really wide lens for my M2 and a 21mm F 2.8 Zeiss only teased me. Don't get me wrong, the 21mm Zeis is really something of a gem, but a 12mm; I'll have to start wearing better quality shoes because they will probably be in almost every image I take with that lens.

Not really lusting after anything, but am on the hunt for another 35/2 Nikkor-O with AI conversion ring. 'Course, I wouldn't turn down a 400/3.5 EDIF AI or AIS Nikkor, if I found one at a price that was affordable.
