What ISO will the new Ektachrome be?

It's got to be a competitive alternative to Provia in both performance and price.

Really looking forward to 35mm (don't really care what ISO), not interested in Super 8 but am hoping for (not likely however) 120 format.

Never mind about Brian.Kodak has a little
risc in concern of economic issues with
every new plan.
Here the risc is Not easy to handle.
Time scedules are not as precise as we all can expect.
BUT Kodak has a much higher risc with there plan : The complete lost of ALL REPUTATION !!!!!
Therefore I am quite sure they will manage their problems with film production.
The Super 8 theme I see a bit different.
1) IT is unculculable from the demand of the market (even with most competent
research)
2) IT is more expensive to consumers.
3) Kodak perhaps make a mistake to see
a big group of " little Tarantinos " who can affort such kind of modernest S8
equipment.

But to confect the kodak ektachrome emulsion from masterolls also in super 8
should be possible.
The big revival of super 8 is very optimistic.
Therfore we can't hear some new infos
from Kodak?

If Kodak can't pull it off they don't risk reputation. All they need to do is say they tried and couldn't. Whether that's due to technical issues, or market demand, or anything else. Their current lineup color negative is what most people want anyway. Isn't it?

You might be right Brian - but to me regarding the image campaign to Ektachrome Films, regarding the advertisment spot, regarding the statements of Kodak to Kodachrome: " If there is a chance to manufacture Kodachrome and there is a demand and an economic basis we will check it " ( just from my mind - not 100% correct - but in this way )

AND after this Kodak would state : Sorry folks we are not able to manufacture this new Film ( Ektachrome ) - to me Kodak will lost indeed all REPUTATION ( what a blame to Kodak ).

But therefore I am quite sure they will handle it TO EVERY PRICE - and thats the danger I am worried about.

They will definitifly bring out Ektachrome : To every possible price they calculate to avoid an other economic desaster.

And this could mean §24,95/roll135-36 the only question after this should be : "with development ?"

This should also be possible because of Kodak's investments in support of labs.

BUT IT WILL BE AN ECONOMICAL DESASTER TO ALL OF US .......

Never the less it might be comming not so bad, we will see ......

You think there is a chance it wont be ISO100?

Honestly I wouldn't mind if it was faster and a little grainier than Provia 100f, I project 120 Provia to 5ft by 5ft and it looks so smooth and grainless. For me the one thing that stops it from being a general purpose colour film isn't so much the contrast (very long shadow roll off on Provia) but the speed, I find handholding with it on a 120 SLR is marginal in the UK, fine in other places with much brighter sunshine or the rare days here where we get full on sun, even just 160 or 200 and a touch less contrast would make me think differently again about slide film.

However I wouldn't want to bet against it being ISO 100 and going head to head with Provia.
