Right so i assume you all know that Kodak has said the NEW Ektachrome will be available by the last quarter of this year.
However, i read that they are reformulating it, so it won't be the exact same film that it used to be, this would also make it i assume the newest E-6 emulsion on the market ( Ferrania,Rollei,JCH don't have new E-6 emulsions do they? )
Does anybody have any hints of that the speed of the new Ektachrome could be? personally 100 or 160 would be handy.
My total guess would be 100ASA.....a usable speed, while maintaining good sharpness and minimum grain.
And wasn't there the suggestion it would be used in a Super-8 version.....so would that be an artificial light version to use with a filter fitted in the camera, like the
Kodachrome 40, etc., used in the old Super-8 cartridges ?
The movie film is the reason it is coming back.Perhaps I am not up to date - but is it realy clear that Kodak hold on with their plan to super 8 ?
YesAm I the only one that finds it odd that it's getting close to the release date an this info has not yet been divulged?

Marketing by making potential customers guess... an interesting strategy.Yes.
They probably have been watching what Ferrania is going through.

Photo Engineer has made a couple of posts here that hint they are dealing with some technical challenges with respect to the re-introduction.
Well, yeah but if Kodak announced that it would be coming back they must have commited to the project seriously! No ISO

I will first see it before I believe......
with regards
I'm with you. It's a shame to have to feel this way. One of my employees was at CES when it was announced and they had nothing but a story. No marketing materials that she could find. Just a press release an a promise. And not much since, either. I'll be happy if it comes true, though, at an affordable price. No ISO

Regarding Ektachrome prices in the past : $ 29,90 (Ektachrome Elite 100/ Ektachrome Elite Extracolor 100 - both as versions of E100 G/E100 GX to amateurs).....what a price in 2005/2006/2007 ????Well, yeah but if Kodak announced that it would be coming back they must have commited to the project seriously!
Now something i would like to see is how much they will charge, for a roll of 135-36, i undoubtedly will buy it, but just how much will be determined by price, because E-6 processing is scarce and expensive.
i know for a fact most people would rather have Kodachrome coming back than Ektachrome
