Hi, guys!

I found these clips at the bottom of one of my old camera bags.

Inch and a half total length. Plastics are 1/4" on the longest side.

No matter how much I try, can't remember what they were used for.

Maybe one of you have better memory than me. I though it would be a fun post anyway.

Cheers

Alex

Wire coat hangers left alone in a closet will reproduce. It does not matter is the coat hangers are the same sex since they are hermaphroditic. The only requirement is that more than one coat hanger be in the close.

Look like they were designed to hold something in place by its edges. Spotlight filters, or something of that kind?

Well, they're retainer clips for something circular for sure. Can't remember for what, though. Could be lamps, could be 120 film rolls, or could be other supply.

It would narrow down the possibilities if you shared with us what you have been carrying around in your camera bag.

That'll be a pretty long list. I used to do studio work long ago; different film formats, cameras, lenses, filters, supplies, flashes, strobes, accessories, etc, etc... too long to start guessing.

I started this post with the idea that someone will see the clips and remember exactly what they were used for.

Long shot, I guess.😔

The way the spring is shaped, it looks like it might have held something to a circular thing...

Something like clips to hold a cable release to a tripod with matching slots.

Damn, this is going to bug me all day...

You and me both, Kino. Yes, that's exactly what they are: Circular retainer clips... I keep thinking they kept some kind of supply in its package, or a strobe bulb in place.

Is that a fact..? These are mini-coathangers and they spent years in my camera bag. I'll leave 'em in a closet tonight and share the results.

Well, tell us what types of cameras you tended to carry in that bag. You say it was an older one; sounds like you haven't used it in a while. Might give us the needed clues...
