So I was rolling around a flea market in Seoul when I came across this bundle of items, a broken yashica electro 35 gtn, a little leather yashica case, a flash unit, and this curious little wide angle adapter.

2 questions;
Has anyone used this before?
And what does this make the effective focal distance now? It says it's a 1:4 ratio.

Hello
If it is what I think, I had one of those long time ago. They came in a combo of a Wide angle + Tele + Viewfinder. I was not very hapy with the results, so I sold both lenses and kept the viewfinder (I still use it in other cameras). It is one aditional layer of glass that you place in front of the original lens...
Those lenses show up now and then in e-bay.
Regards
Joao

It was sold as part of a wide and tele kit complete with viewfinder.You'll see them on eBay fairly often,I've never used them but info should abound out there.

I have the set. I haven't tried them.

Generic wide-angle attachments are most common.
BUT I never came across one that is designated as quadrupling the angle of view, only doubling at most.

Yes, magnification factor 0.8 and max aperture of F 1:4.
That makes sense.
