What is this attachment on this lens?

Attached to the bottom of this lens which I can't identify as well. I only know the camera is a Olympus OM-4 with the Auto Winder attached below. Seems like a AF motor attachment for the lens?
Thanks!

That is a self-contained autofocus lens. Gives auto focus on manual focus bodies. Not an attachment.

This is an early experiment in autofocus lenses, where the AF module and electronics are in the lens, or actually in the box below. The two buttons on the side may be for power zoom. These lenses were marketed to use with bodies that did not have any autofocus electronics or sensors within the body.

What is that absurd camera strap with the massive toggles guaranteed to destroy the finish on your camera?

Fortunately it's not my camera, saw it on an online auction site and got curious about the lens. Strap seems OEM though. Thanks for the reply!

Nobody seems to realise that OEM has nothing to do with the original manufacturer, but refers to equipment made by someone other than the original manufacturer, but which is entirely compatible.

The term originated (pun unintentional) in the mainframe- and mini-computer industry in the '60s and '70s.

Huh, not in my industry (automotive). OEM: original equipment manufacturer. Which means: this manufacturer manufactures parts for a car maker.

Hate to say this but O.E.M. goes back goes back long before the computer age and was/is used by companies who make equipment for other manufacturers to include in their own equipment and made to their specifications.
