i recently bought some 8x10 tanks to develop x raybfil un hangers but they take 15 liters of chemestry. How longg does rodinal last after mixing 1:100? If possible I would like to avoid throwing out 150ml of rodinal every time. Thanks in advance.

Dr.Goose,

At least 2 hours: that's the longer I developed with Agfa Rodinal in stand. But you probably are talking about re-use, what I would avoid - as I didn't came across a Rodinal replenisher yet. So, use & discard, or opt for another developer with replenisher - (D-76 or X-tol?), or set a more diluted approach for economical reasons.

Luck,

Renato

I have seen on Ebay, from time to time, a skinny little 8x10 film processing tank that holds only one or two hangers and only needs a liter or so of developer. Much cheaper to one shot this way.

I bought a half dozen skinny stainless steel tanks when I was preparing to shoot 8x10 but that never happened so now they just sit. I sold the camera and lenses dedicated to 8x10 but for some weird reason I haven't made myself sell the tanks. Yeah, I know. It's weird. At any rate, per the post above. I bought skinny tanks for that very reason... to minimize wasted chemistry.

Rodinal is a one shot developer and not intended for tank use. Once diluted it should be used within a few minutes. Use something like D-76 or HC-110.
