Hi all, Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm using some arista lith film with no film notches and I'm not quite sure

what side is the emulsion. One side is gray and the other is almost black.

Can anyone tell me which one is the emulsion side please?

Many thanks

regards
Erik

In ye oldene dayz, the lab rats who taught me darkroom would just barely bogart the corner of the film then open their lips. The emulsion side is the one that's stickiest.

I have some of that stuff. The emulsion side is lighter than the almost black side.

A similiar method to John's is to lick your index finger very lightly, then rub it a bit on your thumb until they are almost dry. Then squeeze the film in one corner. Which ever side is the stickiest is the emulsion. But from what you describe, it's almost certainly the grey side.
