What is the best 35mm film you have ever used?

Color-Kodachrome 25
B&W- If I were to have to pick just one Delta 100.

But if I could break it down by film speed I would add PanF+ 50 for a slow speed film and TriX for a faster film.

All the AGFAPAN films, now Tri-X and perhaps the Plus-X, but I lost interest in 35 mm, for the time being 6x6 is my thing...

My vote(s) hands down;

For B&W: Agfa APX 25 - (developed in Rodinal and printed on either Brovira or Portriga- swear you could scrap the silver off it and spend it)

For Color: Kodak Kodachrome 25 (yup Paul Simon said it best, "makes all the world a sunny day")

This is the b&w forum so my vote also goes to Panatomic-X. I loved rating it at 64 and developing it in Edwal FG-7 1:15 with plain water. Tri-X has been greatly improved over the years so I wouldn't want an older version to use now. I liked Panatomic-X better than any of the fine grain b&w films available now or since FX was discontinued. The closest thing to it now is in Pan F+, which is also a fine film.

I don't know. I currently like Tri-X, but I can't say that it is the best. Agfa APX-100 was great most of the time. TMX is outstanding, but not really my favorite. My feeling is that the absolute best was Eastman Background-X. It probably was not, in fact, as good as some of the modern films, but I liked it very much. It was an old, thick emulsion, slow (ASA 25) motion picture film with very fine grain and great rendition. I have some outstanding negatives done on that film, though not many excellent photos that long ago.
