I wrote it down for you in the other thread, I rarely call it Kodalk

It was Kodak's proprietary formula; an alkali containing sodium metaborate. It is no longer made. I substitute sodium metaborate without issues.

Marketing Hype to make it sound as if it's a Kodak proprietary chemical.

They gave many developers, papers etc names in the 20's and 30's only to drop them again later because they were so confusing.

Kothena, Kodesko, Kodatone, Kodura, Kodascpe (projector), Kodachrome, Kodatol (DK20), Kodinol (Rodinol type dev), Kodurol (glycine), that's just a start. . . .

Then silly names like Dolmi - amidol

Most names reverted back Kodesko to Bromesko etc, just a few remained Kodalk, Kodachrome.

It was made elsewhere too in the 30's Agfa Ansco mused it as well, Kodalk was nothing more than pure Sodium Metaborate

A perfect substitution can be made by adding NaOH to Borax, in the correct proportions.
