What Is A "Normal" Darkroom Sink Supposed To Be Like?

My old place' sink apparatus was simple - there were two(2) knobs: Main one turns the water on - left colder - to the right, warmer. Other knob simply adjusts quantity/power of flow. At the top was a meter showing temperature, all very simple. Easy to get 68f.
Now, this new place has about 8 knobs. On the far left are 2, cold on top, undernieth, hot. Next to it are 2 filters, the, 2 more knobs in order to "bypass" filters. Then 2 more going to 2 separate tubes, not necessarily hot or cold. In the middle are a few more knobs - "turn this before you turn that... but remember not to turn that one, because if you do you'll have to go back to this one....!!??@#$%^&*...
blah...blah....??!!@#$%^&*(. Is this madness or what?
Plus 4 thermometers that don't seem to work.

Is there a question?

Some setups are designed to give you a choice of unfiltered water without temperature control (for washing up), unfiltered water with temperature control (for tempering baths) and filtered, temperature controlled water (for chemical dilution and film/paper washing).

DF, I am assuming you are NO longer at your ol' place! correct? you are now at a new place? the new place has plumbing technology that at one point in time was state of the art, but now sucks~! correct? This technology you speak of was for a gang lab or largish studio darkroom. if I understand correctly, there are various valves that control. At one point in time 3, 4, or even 8 people could be running water at different rates and varying temps at one sink!!!! it is ashamed that "that " technology is not working for you or the place where it is at.

Yes - I'm at a different place with the crazy plumbing. They say because of a restaurant below and some other venues the water changes alot - but so did the 'ole place.
