Recently I tried a bleach / redevelop procedure on two normally processed Oriental VC/FB prints.
Bleach was pot.ferri/pot.bromide.
Wash,re-dev in hot lith (Fotospeed LD-20 ,one third old brown), wash.
Well, that was the plan, but after the bleach and wash stage,I mistakenly put the first print into RST 1:10. The toner brought back the image, but the toner became darker in color.
Second print, bleached and lithed as above and washed, went into the toner, which immediately became an opaque ,turgid brown.
Any ideas?

Not sure what might have happened in the second case. With the first print, however, it sounds as if there is a combination of the toner toning silver on the print, and the ammonium thiosulphate in the toner fixing out rehalogenated silver, the silver being toned as it goes into solution. The result being a suspension of colloidal silver selenide giving the toner the colour.
